EUROPEAN SUPER LEAGUE IS 'THE WORST FORM OF BULLYING' - NICKY BUTT

A Former Manchester United Class of 92 man Nicky Butt has been speaking to Sky Sports about the European Super League and the club's owners, the Glazer family.

"I don’t think an apology is too great anyway if I’m honest, I think what happened should never have happened," Butt said, who famously won the treble with United in 1999.

"What happened is the worst case of bullying in my opinion, from powerful people – so whether they apologise or not is irrelevant to me really."

Asked if it will take time to rebuild trust, Butt added: "A hell of a long time and I don’t see how it’s possible. It’s difficult to regain someone’s trust after going behind people’s back for so long.

"It’s going to be difficult, I don’t know how they do it."

Butt's former team-mate Gary Neville labelled the Glazer family "scavengers" for Man Utd's role in the proposed European Super League - and said they should be "booted out" from the club.

Ed Woodward is to step down from his role, but Neville now wants to see the Glazers follow.
