OBA ADEBANJI AJIBADE ALABI
Oba
Adebanji Ajibade Alabi is a first class Oba in Ekiti State. He was a former
diplomat. But beyond that, he is a visionary leader who has completely
transformed the face of traditional leadership in Ekiti State and Nigeria as a
whole. He hails from Iro Quarters, Ilawe – Ekiti and took over from Oba Joseph
Ademileka.
Let’s
quickly tell you that Oba Adebanji Alabi has re-written the history of
Ilawe-Ekiti. He is the first Alawe of Ilawe-Ekiti to be named the Chairman of
Ekiti South-West Traditional Council as well as the Chairman of Ekiti State
Traditional Council. His two-year reign has been blissful and full of
innovations.
ERELU
BISI FAYEMI
Her
Excellency, Erelu Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi the wife of the Ekiti Governor is a Feminist Activist, Gender
and Development Specialist, Policy Advocate, Social Sector expert and Writer.
She has a BA (1984) and MA (1988) in History from the University of Ife.
Nigeria (now Obafemi Awolowo University), She also received an MA in Gender and
Society (1992) from Middlesex University, UK. She has a PhD (Honoris Causa) in
Sociology from the Tai Solarin University of Education (2014).
FEMI
FALANA (SAN)
The
name Femi Falana reverbrates. It is not new because he is very popular for his
activism against government oppression of the masses. Barr. Falana was born in
1958 in the town of Ilawe, Ekiti State. He is a Nigerian lawyer and human rights
activist. He is well known for opposing oppression, from successive military
authorities and always trying to show sympathy towards people.
He
was a student of St. Michael’s School from 1963 to 1968. After finishing this school, Femi Falana attended Sacred Heart Catholic Seminary from
1971–1975. He began his legal practice in 1982. After finishing his law
practice in 2012, Femi Falana became a Senior Advocate in Nigeria he graduated
from the University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife Osun State.
He is a Principal Partner at Falana&Falana Chambers which he runs with
Funmi Falana, his wife. He contested and lost the governorship election of
Ekiti State in 2007 on the platform of the National Conscience Party, a party
he served as National Chairman in 2011.

OLABODE THOMAS OLATUNDE
Chief
Olabode Thomas Olatunde (JP) was born in Ilawe Ekiti over (sixty) 60 years ago
to the family of Pa Thomas Ajayi Olatunde of Adin quarters Ilawe Ekiti. He
attended St Patrick Anglican Primary School, Ijebu-Owo and the famous Emmanuel
Primary School, Ado Ekiti for his primary school education. He later proceeded
to Owo High School, Owo for his secondary school education.

ASUBIOJO
Prof.
Asubiojo was born at Ilawe Ekiti in 1949. He had his primary education at St.
John’s Primary School. Ilawe. his secondary education was at Annunciation
School. Ikere, while he had his undergraduate education at the University of Ife
and Postgraduate education at Stanford University California, USA
respectively.
For
about 50 years. Prof. Asubiojo, a Professor of Chemistry has taught generations
of undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Ife/Obafemi
Awolowo University and some other Universities. He has also held visiting
appointments to various Universities in Nigeria and abroad. He is currently a
Professor on Contract and Dean, Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences, Elizade
University, Ilara -Mokin.

Lagos
Commissioner of Police, Alabi Abiodun was born on 31st December 1964. After his
primary and secondary school education. he gained admission into the University of
Lagos where he studied Sociology, Abiodun is a well organized and detailed
-oriented personality with a taste for high standard performance, Commissioner
Alabi's quest for excellence and thirst for more knowledge motivated him to
enrol into Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife in 1988 where he obtained his
master’s degree in 1989, Soon after, he got enlisted into the Nigeria Police
Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on 3rd March.1990 at the
Kano Police Academy, At the completion of his training. he was posted to Abia
State where he started his professional career at Central Police Station Aba as
Patrol and Guard Officer...
MADAM
IBIYEMI ASAOLU OLUYEMI
Ibiyemi
Asaolu manages 3 units of the Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company
(SNEPCo) namely the integrated delivery, Wells, Reservoir and Facility and the
Technology unit of the Company. In her role, she is responsible for the
company’s short- and long-term strategic planning, performance management of
the company promises, management of the efficiency of our reservoir and
facility health and the deployment of new technology for efficient operations
and cost reduction.
She
is an illustrious daughter of Ilawe-Ekiti who has used her good office to help
in developing the community and improving the lives of some of the youths of
Ilawe-Ekiti.

AKOMOLEDE
Prof
Ifedayo Timothy Akomolede is an erudite scholar of international repute. As a
prolific writer, he has contributed to many national and international
scholarly journals and books especially in the areas of Consumer and commercial
transactions, E-Commerce, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Corporate Law and
Corporate Governance. He is a Legal consultant to a number of organisations
nationally and internationally. He has published 3 textbooks to date on Company
Law, Jurisprudence and Business Law. He is a member of many professional bodies
including the International Bar Association and the Institute of Chartered
Secretaries and Administrators both in Nigeria and London.
He
recently won an award as a distinguished son of Ilawe-Ekiti alongside several
other top Nigerians too. His contribution to Ilawe-Ekiti and Nigeria at large
stands him out from the crowd.
YEMI
ADARAMODU
Yemi
Adaramodu is an alumnus of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. At 29,
became the Chairman of Ekiti South West Local Government area. He started as an
illustrator at the Gideon Associates. an Architectural firm in Ibadan. Later,
he joined the Nigerian Tribune Newspapers, Ibadan in 1987. He rose to be
Assistant Editor, Deputy Editor and Corporate Affairs Manager of the African
Newspapers of Nigeria Plc.
Hon.
Yemi Adaramodu popularly known as Agbaman or ljinle, due to his deep
understanding of local politics. He got his political baptism from the
University variously as a Students Representatives Council Member. He joined the
Alliance for Democracy, the Action Congress which later metamorphosed to the
All Progressives Congress. Adaramodu was the Director of Communications at the
Dr John Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organization
in
2010. He became the Chief of Staff to Governor Kayode Fayemi. He held this
position until 2014. At the expiration of the first term of Governor Fayemi, he
consequently became a Director of the Federal Housing Authority, Abuja.

OLU DARAMOLA SAN
From
Ilawe Ekiti, Barr. Olu Daramola was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1993.
Thereafter, he joined the Afe Babalola & Co Chamber in November 1994 after
a brief stint with Tayo Oyetibo & Co. His areas of specialisation include
commercial law, maritime law, intellectual property, banking, taxation and
aviation. He holds a Master’s Degree in Law from Obafemi Awolowo University
Ile-Ife, Osun State. He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of
Arbitrators (U.K.) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Nigeria. He was admitted
into the Inner Bar in 2008. He is the Deputy Managing Partner and he is of the
Lagos office of the Law Firm.
